Autumn Term 2014

We resuming Wednesday evening classes on 17th September 2014 there's usually 10 classes per term so we should finish on the 19th November.
The 6pm class is for Intermediate Cantonese students and is held at the Camden Chinese Community Centre 9 Tavistock Place London WC1H 9SN
The 8pm class is a smaller and 'mixed' level class, they usually meet at Costa Coffee

You're welcome to try both classes and see which one suits you best, your first class is free!

Complete beginners -  SiuMay (our teacher) also teaches at the Chinese Community Centre in Leiceter Square on Saturdays. Classes there need a minimum of 4 students to run (they don't do free trials, you pay in advance for the term).
Please call the centre manager there for more info: 020 7439 3822

Tones - the little numbers on this blog

Cantonese has six tones, we use numbers after each word to identify them
1 = High Falling - as in King
2 = Mid-rising - you??
3 = Mid-level - boon3 (half)
4 = Low Falling - kingdom
5 = Low-rising - ngoh5 (I, me)
6 = Low-level - ngoh5 dei6 (we) sounds like day

alas they're very important, see:
